Blog: Elaina’s Trip to Turks & Caicos

When we got the opportunity to give away a trip to Beaches Turks & Caicos, Shawn and I were SOOOO excited for our winners!!! I mean, two people were about to hit up an all inclusive paradise to see Lee Brice, Jerrod Neimann and Dylan Scott?! Seriously, we were amped. Then all of a sudden, Beaches invited us to come along for the ride?!?!?! Yeah, don’t know how we got so lucky…but I ain’t complaining!

Now, originally, Shawn was supposed to go as well, but he got this little gig that I guess was worth staying home for ;). HE’S GOING TO BE ON NASHVILLE!! Super excited for him, and can’t wait to see it, but yeah, quite possibly the only reason worth missing out on the Islands.

I ended up traveling there with our friends from America’s Morning Show, Kelly Ford, Ty Bentli and Chuck Wicks! Our flight left at 7 am, so you could say we were a little loopy:

The early flight was well worth it because we landed in Turks & Caicos pretty early, with plenty of time to check in and explore! Beaches made the transportation SO easy. As soon as we wrapped up with customs, they were there checking us in, taking our bags and loading us up! As soon as we arrived, they greeted us with cold towels and a cold island cocktail (cold everything is necessary with the humidity).

It was actually a really neat check in process. After they give you a drink, they sit you down in comfy chairs, and bring you an iPad to get your info. As soon as your room is ready, someone comes to escort you and tell you all about the resort! My jaw about dislocated when they told me there were TWENTY ONE different restaurants. Now, let me tell ya, I worked out HARD and ate really well leading up to this…and mostly, it was so I could eat whatever I wanted for four days. So this whole 21 restaurant situation was very exciting. But that was quickly overshadowed when they opened the door to my room…wait, let me rephrase that…MY SUITE!! WHAT?!?! Yeah, it had 2 bathrooms, two beds, a full kitchen, a fully stocked (included) bar, and a balcony with lounge chairs! It was so luxurious, and my 4’11 self made sure to use every square inch!

That night we got dinner at SKY, which is on a rooftop and overlooks the ocean. Mind you, I am not used to an all inclusive resort and eating dinner is the strangest (but coolest) experience. You sit down, order WHATEVER YOU WANT, then just leave when you’re done. The service was incredible, and so were the views and the company.

Dinner was with Ty’s wife, Corri, Ali Mac and Kaitlyn from Kicks 101.5 in Atlanta, Kelly Ford from America’s Morning show, and Jesse Addy from NASH FM 94.7 New York. We could help but think of this situation:

Then it was time for #StoryBehindTheSongs first session with Dylan Scott. The concept was so cool. Dylan was up on a beach stage with an acoustic guitar. He sang a bunch of his songs and told intimate stories about his journey here in Nashville. Of course, he closed it out with “My Girl”. Then, it was time for bed!

As soon as we woke up, it was time to hit the beach, and Sunday morning was the first time I saw Turks & Caicos water up close during the day….WOW!!!

I’ve never seen such clear ocean water. It could not have been any more beautiful outside, and we just enjoyed every second. THEN…we saw an ocean trampoline. Obviously, Kelly and I went RIGHT OVER! On the way, we saw Dylan Scott and his lovely wife Blair and they decided to join. Now, we jumped off that thing 2368726378 times, but there is only one time worth showing…

Yeah, that’s me slipping off the trampoline and back flopping into the water. I mean, my legs got some serious air! The funny thing is, I think there was so much adrenaline, I hardly felt it. So now that you know all is OK, you know you want to see it in GIF form…

AAAAnnnnd…moving on…here’s more water….

If you’re thinking about heading to Beaches Turks & Caicos with kids, they’ve got you covered. They actually have a partnership with Sesame Street, a full water park, and even kids clubs. Now, I don’t want you to be TOO jealous, but I met cookie monster:

Then it was time for #StoryBehindTheSongs with Lee Brice & Jerrod Neimann. Not before a little island entertainment though!

Then there was the broadcast, and well…you guys heard that.

Before and after the broadcast we got plenty of time to play and explore this magical resort. I seriously can’t recommend Beaches Turks & Caicos enough!! I can’t wait to go back for years to come. THANK YOU to the resort for their hospitality, thank you to Curb Records for such an amazing event. Thank you to all of our radio friends are just the best people in the world. Thank you to Jerrod Neimann, Lee Brice and Dylan Scott for putting on a great show. AGH! My heart is just so full <3 <3 <3
