Firerose Becomes A U.S. Citizen In The Midst Of Nasty Divorce From Billy Ray Cyrus

Despite currently going through a contentious divorce from Billy Ray Cyrus, Firerose is celebrating becoming a newly sworn in citizen of the United States. The 37-year-old Australian native shared a video documenting her patriotic process of gaining new citizenship in Tennessee in an Instagram Reel from July 18, which is soundtracked by Zach Williams’ ballad, “Rescue Story.” The singer captioned her post, “This amazing country’s been my home for 17 years. I couldn’t be more thrilled to become a US Citizen! 🇺🇸🗽❤️”

Firerose, whose real name is Johanna Rosie Hodges, is currently involved in heated divorce proceedings with Cyrus, whom she was married to for only seven months. The former couple have both accused the other party of abuse in court filings. Cyrus cited irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct in the initial divorce filing, and has also filed paperwork for an annulment of the marriage on the grounds of fraud. (People)
